Cindy, the heart and soul behind Amara Therapy, is your trusted Expert Level Myofascial Release Therapist with over 700 hours of specialized training in John F. Barnes Myofascial Release therapy. She’s also an approved leader of Wisconsin MFR Study Groups and an Instructor for MFR Seminars. Plus, she’s the author of the MFR children’s book, ‘Feel, Breathe, and Imagine.’ Cindy also holds additional certifications in CranioSacral Therapy and various energetic modalities. Her mission? Offering holistic therapies to heal both body and soul.

What truly sets Cindy apart is her journey. She’s walked the path of chronic pain herself, which fuels her dedication to helping others break free from those stubborn fascial restrictions.

Cindy’s passion lies in Myofascial Release, where she customizes each treatment to your unique needs. During sessions, she blends her innate empathic sensing abilities with therapeutic expertise to guide you in attuning to your body and releasing long-held patterns of restriction.

The Barnes Myofascial Release Approach® is like a trio of superpowers: Myofascial Release (for structural freedom), Rebounding (a soothing wave-like motion), and Unwinding (for facilitated movement). This comprehensive approach promotes profound healing in both the physical and emotional realms. Clients don’t just feel better; they’re amazed by the gentle yet powerful relief from chronic pain, trauma, and stress.

Cindy’s sessions start with a thorough postural assessment to pinpoint areas of imbalance, tightness, and decreased flexibility. She uses gentle prolonged pressure and stretches (no lotions here) for a minimum of 5-7 minutes to release fascial restrictions.

Myofascial Release therapy is a game-changer for many conditions, from chronic pain to emotional trauma. If you’re looking for relief, Cindy’s the expert you can trust.

During times of trauma the subconscious develops a protective pattern that becomes locked into the mind-body complex like a “frozen moment in time.”

John F. Barnes, Healing Ancient Wounds

Our body responds to every moment we experience, either softening and flowing in acceptance or tightening and restricting in protective resistance. We imprint a memory of our experience not only in our subconscious mind but in our body to help avoid repeating trauma. Stress, injury, physical and emotional trauma, or illness can lock us in a pattern of protective holding. Without awareness, we may get stuck in this multi-layered pattern of resistance.

Pain and discomfort are the body’s signals that we need to let go and soften, but we may have forgotten the way back to freedom. Myofascial Release Therapy uses specialized techniques that allow us to access our subconscious holding patterns and bring them into our conscious awareness. In doing so, we can release our resistant hold and experience freedom from chronic pain.
